Vehicle Wraps Gone Wrong

At LRT we eat, breathe and sleep anything and everything involved with vehicle wraps. It’s what we do, it’s what we love and above all else it’s our livelihood. It’s what keeps our employees employed, puts food in our belly’s and clothes on our back, so we pride ourselves in going above and beyond to ensure that our customers have nothing but the BEST vehicle graphics in town. That being said, not all companies are the same. In fact, we’re the ONLY vehicle wrap company in Chico with fully insulated and temperature controlled install bays. Crazy right? We’d have thought that was standard practice since the vinyl manufactures require it for your vinyl to be covered by warranty.

As the pro’s in graphic design, vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, bus graphics, trailer wraps and graphics – we tend to spend a lot of time highlighting the many attributes of our skills. Since we’re a consumer based company and our clients are our number 1 priority we wanted to put together a blog that keeps you aware of the dark side of poor quality vehicle wraps, that way you know what to look for when walking into any vehicle wrap shop.

With a few tips and suggestions you will be able to easily see why they were done by company’s looking to take the cheap and easy way out. Sure it might sound nice to save $500 up front but is it really worth it when your graphics are falling off a couple of months later? Most people would say probably not. The wraps you are about to see were done by other companies that offer vehicle wraps and if you see a company boasting these graphics I’d run fast.

bad-alignment

The first image is a vehicle wrap where the images don’t line up as they should. As you may have noticed, the big red arrow is pointing at the level difference for the wrap. Improper alignment should not acceptable in a professional arena. There are a variety of reasons this may have happened. It could be due to a poor design, a bad print job or just a bad install job. Either way, it shouldn’t happen and if it does the company should fix it asap, free of charge.

vehicle-bubbles

The above and below vehicle wrap (or any type of vehicle graphic) should never have bubbles, ripples, wrinkles etc.  of any type, ever. There are zero excuses. This is an example of using poor quality vinyl and having unqualified installers doing the job. There is a reason that we are PDAA (professional decal application alliance) members as well as the only provider in the north state with the coveted 3M MCS warranty for finished vehicle graphics, because we believe in providing high quality vehicle wraps. The 3M MCS warranty is the longest warranty of vinyl wrap material by any manufacturer.

vehicle-graphics-mistakes

The above vehicle wrap appears to be torn, ripped and if you look closely it appears as though it was overlapped at some point during the application process. If you look to the right you’ll also notice that the hinge on the vehicle isn’t properly wrapped.  And again you’ll see some white space below the window perf that shouldn’t be there. It doesn’t matter if it’s an inch or a mile, a poorly wrapped vehicle wrap is a poorly wrapped vehicle wrap. This shouldn’t happen and if it is, come see us. Immediately.

graphics-gone-wrong

The last image we’re going to wrap up with looks horrible. Whether it’s cheap vinyl or a cheap wrap, it’s hard to tell. Either way the cut work on this was done sloppy and looks horrendous. We wouldn’t want our car looking like this – would you?

Vehicle wraps, vehicle graphics, fleet graphics, trailer wraps, bus wraps etc. etc. are all an extension of our business and the image we want to present, therefore, it’s imperative to choose a graphic design company that holds high-quality work over outbidding the competition. Why? Because the cheapest route is usually not the best route, it’s really that simple.

LRT offers the highest quality of design and install anywhere in the north state, you won’t find a company that can out wrap us in quality.
