Will window graphics damage or stain my glass when removed?
No, if proper materials are used and removed correctly, they should not damage the glass. Glass is non-porous, so adhesive usually comes off clean. When we remove vinyl, we use heat to soften the adhesive and peel it. At worst, there might be some glue residue, but that can be cleaned off with an adhesive remover (which we can do, or you can do with products like Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol). The glass underneath will look like new. It might actually be cleaner compared to exposed glass because the vinyl shielded it from dust – sometimes you’ll see a slight outline simply because the uncovered glass got dirtier or UV-exposed. But a good cleaning equalizes that. Our vinyl films are designed to not leave behind color or damage. Static clings definitely leave nothing since they have no adhesive. The only caution is if glass has old sun damage or if it’s very old and brittle – removing vinyl could potentially bring off a loose bit of old tint film if your window had that, but generally windows themselves remain in perfect condition. We often remove year-old sale graphics and the window just needs a normal cleaning. One tip: removing on a warm day or using heat ensures any residue stays soft. We don’t recommend scraping with a razor except gently for small bits, as aggressive scraping could scratch glass. But we seldom need razors at all; quality vinyl pulls off in decent-sized pieces. So, rest easy – when you’re done with a promotion or rebranding, your windows will be ready for the next thing or just clear as before.
Can people see inside my store with window graphics up?

Yes. Our banners are designed for outdoor durability. We print with UV-resistant inks on sturdy vinyl that won’t fade quickly in sunlight. The material is water-proof and tear-resistant. For windy locations, we offer mesh banners (vinyl with tiny perforations) that allow wind to pass through, preventing strain. We also reinforce all outdoor banners with welded hems and brass grommets to withstand the elements. With proper care (secure installation and storing it rolled when not in use), your banner can last for years outdoors.

Are window graphics easy to remove later? Can I do it myself?
Yes, most window graphics are removable and you can often do it yourself with some patience and basic tools. For smaller decals and cling vinyls, it’s as easy as peeling them off starting at a corner – very straightforward. For larger, adhesive vinyl panels or perforated film, removal is also not difficult: you peel it off, but it might come in strips. Doing it on a warm day or gently heating with a hairdryer helps the adhesive release. If any adhesive stays, you’d wipe it with an adhesive remover and then clean the glass. We give instructions if you plan to DIY remove. Many clients handle it fine themselves especially for short-term promos. If the graphics have been on for many years, the adhesive can set more firmly, so it might break more as you pull – still doable but takes more effort. We at LRT can also perform removal for you, especially if you have a lot of windows or high-up areas (we have the tools, and we’ll do it efficiently without damage). Typically, removal is part of the service if we’re replacing it with new graphics anyway. But if you, say, put up your own sale clings and want to take them down, it’s quite user-friendly. Just don’t wait decades (some old vinyl from 20 years ago might need professional help because it gets brittle). But with modern vinyl and within its service life, it comes off clean. Summarily: yes, you can remove them yourself in most cases – we’ll advise on best practices (like starting at the top and pulling down at a 45° angle, etc.). And if you prefer not to, we’re one call away to handle it.
Do window graphics hold up in weather (rain, sun, etc.)?
Absolutely – we use materials intended for outdoor exposure on glass. The prints and vinyl are waterproof and UV-resistant. Rain just drips off them (and can actually help by washing dirt off). The adhesive is waterproof, so moisture won’t make them fall off. Sun is the bigger factor: over years, UV can fade colors. We mitigate that by using inks and laminates rated for UV resistance. For example, our printed window films have a laminate that acts like sunscreen, often extending life by several years. If you have intense sun on west-facing windows, eventually you might see some slight fading after many summers, but generally the graphics will still look good for the intended lifespan (like 3-5 years or more). Solid cut vinyl, especially darker colors, can last 5-7 years easily without noticeable fading. Extreme heat or cold doesn’t bother them once properly installed – they expand and contract with glass similarly. One thing: if your area experiences window glass getting very hot, sometimes very large solid dark vinyl can cause more heat absorption leading to potential thermal stress on glass – rare, but we can use perforated glass in those cases to alleviate that. But that’s mostly an issue in very hot climates with single-pane glass. Usually not a concern here. Also, if you ever pressure-wash your windows, that could edge-peel vinyl, so we advise against direct high-pressure on the graphics. Normal rain and wind are fine. In fact, we often laminate prints not just for UV but to make cleaning easy – you can wipe them without damaging the print. In summary, yes, window graphics are made for outdoor weather. They wouldn’t be much good to you if they washed away in a storm! We ensure they’re securely applied, and the materials can brave the elements just as your storefront windows themselves do.
