Facebook Trends to Watch For In 2015

With 200 million monthly users under Instagram’s belt, it’s easy to see how crucial it is for businesses to change their habits. Facebook will feel the effects of this shift in social media. Text-heavy Facebook updates may go the way of the dodo bird.

Trend #2: Facebook Won’t Lose Its Place at the Top despite Growing Competition

2014 observed an increase in the amount of social networks on the Internet. A number of these networks popped up for the express purpose of giving people a site free of pervasive advertising and privacy violations – problems many people associate with Facebook. For example, March of 2014 brought Ello, a site that promises never to sell the personal information of its users.

Do these networks stand a chance? New social networks that try to mimic Facebook in some way don’t have a lot going for them. They have to attract an adequate amount of active users. Without a solid user base, the sites end up feeling empty and incomplete. If things don’t change in 2015, Facebook will continue to be a strong leader.

Trend #3: Businesses Will Embrace Facebook as a Core Part of Marketing   

When 2015 arrives, marketers will come to the realization that it’s not enough to have a blog or online store. If they want to spread the word about their products or services, they have to embrace social media websites like Facebook completely. They’ll understand that Facebook can amplify the visibility of their published content and bring them new levels of success.
