The answer that should be screaming through everyone’s head right now is YES, YES and hold on – one more YES! It seems like the obvious answer should be YES, the design of a business card really does matter. Yet thousands of people around the world ignore the little voice in their head telling them to invest in a professional logo design and offset printing and instead go with the cheaper route and self design. I’m here to tell you to step away from the computer – far far far away and spend the extra money to invest in a professionally designed business card.

It’s simple. You wouldn’t do your own website development, brochures or vehicle graphics so please – don’t start with your business card! (And if you would design any of these things – please seek professional help immediately. Preferably from LRT). Business cards are no exception to the rule – if you want a professional image trust the professionals to design your card. Just like you wouldn’t try to set yourself up with your own insurance, don’t try to design your own business card.

Long after you’ve introduced yourself, socialized, networked etc. with an individual the one lasting memory an individual will have of you (aside from some good promotional products) is your business card. You want to entice individuals to keep it, use it and pass it on to their friends and colleagues; therefore you want the business card to be memorable.  The graphic design of a business card can help you retain business, grow business and convert referrals into sales. Sure you might save a few bucks ordering off vista print but you lose out on the personal assistance of a professional designer helping you conceptualize a design that is sure to enhance business colleagues.

Do you have the right information? Is it placed in the right location? Does the font style you have attract the eye in the right way? Have you coordinated your graphic design to correlate with your company branding? Does your business card have a creative, eye catching design? What’s the call to action part of your business card? Is there enough bleed room? These are just a few of the reasons why it’s imperative to have a professional graphic designer work on your business cards.

There’s a reason that people hire you to do what you do – it’s because you’re the best. You know what you’re doing. You know how to get it done and people trust you. You certainly wouldn’t advice your clients to try to do it themselves – this is no different. Sure, perhaps you could create a business card yourself but would it really be the best? Would it create a professional image? Would it drive the results you want it to drive? Probably not. In business that’s not a risk you should take, so sit back, relax and let the professionals at LRT help you out.

Business cards are the quickest and easiest way to present your information so having a great design can make or break the impact you make on potential clients or colleagues. Ensure that you have a business card that people keep to allow for easy connections and word-of-mouth referrals.

If you want to leave a lasting impression then throw away the template and come get a custom business card from LRT, because the design of a business card REALLY does matter.  Do you need other offset printing services, SEO help or help with your marketing strategies? We’d be happy to help you!
